Centenary Park

For quite some time, ACDC has been planning to establish garden areas in the local Centenary Park, in conjunction with CGVC completing works on the waste system in the park. In June of this year, the CGVC contracted the enviro-cycle system to be converted to a septic system. the garden area was then prepared. ACDC purchased plants, which have been nurtured through frosts and heat. today, a group of 7 volunteers worked to plant small shrubs and grasses, adjacent to the toilet block. Thanks to the local Cafe that offered the workers a coffee during their work.

Auburn Cemetery desecration

On Saturday 4th November, visitors to the Auburn Cemetery were devastated to find vandals had spent considerable time destroying many grave headstones and decorations. The police have made their forensic sweep of the cemetery. Many local Auburn people and family members have visited the cemetery since Saturday, picking up debris from smashed vases, decorations, etc. Thank you to those who so quickly leant a hand to collect up  broken pieces. For anyone who wishes to make enquiries about the progress of maintenance of headstones, or the condition of their family grave sites,  please contact Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council on 08-88426400. It will be a lengthy process getting quotes for repairs and planning the most appropriate strategies for some badly damaged headstones.

Thank you to Clare Gilbert Valleys Council

The Auburn community wishes to thank the Clare Gilbert Valleys Council for the placing of two ‘doggie bag’ dispensers in our local area. One has been installed in Centenary Park on the exterior wall of the Park Shelter, and another has been installed on the Riesling Trail at its entrance to Auburn. These bags are a great public asset, so when you are walking your dog, please use these bags to maintain the safety and comfort of fellow walkers/bike riders.
